Letting go of words

Sitting quietly, smiling,
watching you at play.
You look, smile and say:
“I still need your words.”
Gentle love of a parent,
guiding sleepy spirit,
weaving words into
cosmic symphonies
of awakening.
Until you remember.
Then we let go of words.
Sitting quietly, smiling,
watching more at play.
They look, smile and say:
“we still need your words.”
