Silence

Silence can be golden,
silence can be cruel,
silence can be needed,
silence can pierce through.
From depth of heart,
can you see why,
can you see what,
silence does to a heart?
On a misty morn, hand in hand,
down a path they stroll, silently.
Love.
On a starry night, side by side,
they gaze up, silently.
Contemplation.
Sobbing in sorrow, in a hug,
they stand, silently.
Compassion.
Friends, or so they thought,
turn away, silently.
Delusion.
Sunny day, rainy day,
death separates, silently.
Life.
Years, time passes,
what once was is no more,
they drift, silently.
Impermanence.
Waiting for someone, hoping,
to reach out, to touch, silently.
Growing.
Alone, no one home,
reading in peace, silently.
Solitude.
Questions arise, asking the wise,
they answer, silently.
Learning.
Silence has many faces,
from tears to embraces,
a touch, a thought,
reach into the quiet mind,
open up the heart,
and laugh, just laugh.
